Close Encounters of The Wrong Kind
This Video contains adult language. Close Encounters of the Wrong Kind is the first 2D animation that I put together for an animation class. This The idea of this project is to entertain and make people laugh. I created the elements in Adobe Illustrator and imported them into Adobe Animate for keyframing. Using different keyframe methods for the sound effects, movements, and opacity throughout the cartoon. I had so much fun creating this animation from beginning to end.
Path Of The Boomerang
The Flight of the Boomerang is a stop motion I created. The elements for this where created from clay and crafting foam. I came up with this idea for a stop motion project I was tasked with. I really wanted to stick with classic Claymation for this project and when I started I had an entirely different idea but that didn't make it passed the storyboarding phase. This one started out as a doodle of a boomerang on the boarder of a storyboard template. The idea was to be crude with it and have some of the wires showing, and have the camera show beyond the stage for a comical aspect.
Assets Designed
I created these trees all in Adobe Illustrator. For the trees I started by picking a basic shape tool and lay out the shape. I then started manipulating the edges and proportions. If I used a rectangle I would round the corners based on the height and width of the trees crown. Then with the pen tool I would draw overlapping shapes and subtract those from the main shape to create the gaps to show more of the branches. I would then draw the leaf shapes and add them to the tree in both the main and shaded colors to give the trees more depth and life. The trunks and branches were created with the pen tools and manipulated with the curvature tool. Even though these are not the designs that were used in the animation I really liked the way the look and I am I will definitely use them in a future project.
The shrubs are ovals laid out at various widths. Each oval is tilted slightly and then merged together. I then duplicated the shape, offset it, and changed the color slightly on the duplicate.
Background Art
Parallax walk scene

I created this scene for a music video I am worked on with a team from my Advanced Studio Class. Using 3D layers, and a camera layer I was able to keyframe each layers to create the parallax effect. I also animated 4 separate point lights to animate with the music. At the time of writing this 5/25/2025) I am currently working on this even though we are finished with classes. The client we are making this for who created the music wants us to continue working to submit this project into the LA animated film festival 2025. My role in this project is to create backgrounds and assets to multiple scenes. Another team member created the character and mystical muses or sprites to follow the character while another team member rigs and animates them.

I omitted the music from this video until the musician is ready to release it.

Animated Music video Scene 3

This background including the train was all hand drawn myself in Adobe Illustrator. I submitted this to the team in order to add the characters and rig sed characters. other effects will be added to tie in the music with the animations. The trees, and weeds are all distorted shapes, and the shrubs are the only items from my concept art above that we used for this animation.
