Frankenfonts

I created this typeface for the 36 Days of Type 2024. I was inspired by the Frankenstein book and the 1978 Dawn of the Dead Movie. This piece was submitted to the AIGA San Diego/Tijuana showcase and became a showcase finalist. I really enjoyed creating this piece and will enjoy working with it on future projects.

The Blues Fathers

This was a vector image I created out of various vector shapes and lines. I was tasked with creating a movie poster for a class so I thought of re-creating a photo i took of my father and I as a

Homer
This is a painting I did using acrylic paints. I really like to embrace unique colors and I thought about how Homer Simpson would look in a photo negative. I then took his trademark drool face with his favorite snacks his eyes (mmmm.... Donuts). For the background I used a piece of a sponge that was made specifically for cleaning the felt of cowboy hats to paint with. I then thought it would make a great t-shirt deign so I decided to create the same image in Adobe Illustrator.  The background of this version kind of came to me as I was creating this.
The Batman
This sketch was drawn on Masters Touch Mixed Media with a Bic Velocity 0.7 mechanical pencil then inked with PIGMA Micron pens. this project took 6 hours total to complete. I did this sketch to practice my ink work.
The Maxx
The Maxx is an odd tale if you've read the comics. That's what inspired this piece. Originally drawn with Bic Velocity 0.7 mechanical pencil then inked with PIGMA Micron pens. I colored this image with Prisma Color pencils and took roughly 4.5 hours from start to finish.
 The Lonely Spaceman

This little guy was the result of doodling when I was bored. Drawn with a Staedtler 2H pencil and Inked with a PIGMA Micron 02, 01, 003, 005 pens.

Pen & Ink Work

This was a project to recreate some classical works Such as Luca Cambiaso's "Descent From the Cross", Antoine Laurent Castellan's "Cloud Study", Anthony Van Dyck's "Christ Crowned", and Unknown artist "The Last Communion of Mary Magdalene". These pieces were all great to recreate.
